*Jung "representation of unconscious self"
*From Buddhism; awakening, enlightenment, where true nature of reality is revealed.
*Microcosm representing various divine powers at work in the Universe.
*Structure: inner circle containing deity/deities, enclosed by a multi-level square palace with openings in four directions
*Figures and symbols placed throughout design, ie, diamond, bell, vajra, Dharma wheel, lotus - all of which have symbolic meanings.
